Crisis and Emergencies

I am not insured to offer a crisis or emergency service.

It is understandable that you may experience distress at times but if you need to speak to someone immediately please contact either

  • Your GP

  • Connection Helpline for Dorset 0800 652 0190

  • NHS direct by dialling 111

  • The Samaritans by dialling 116 123

  • Text the word ‘SHOUT’ to 85258 and you will start a conversation with a trained Shout Volunteer, who can help if you’re struggling to cope and need mental health support

  • Click the emergency link at the top right on the Steps 2 Wellbeing website

or go to your local A&E department. In dire emergency call 999 for an ambulance.

Other Sources of Help

There are free helpful apps on Android and iPhone such as

  • Calm that aims to improve sleep, reduce anxiety, manage stress and improve focus

  • Headspace for guided meditation and mindfulness

  • Distract with information and links for people who self-harm and may feel suicidal

  • Stair Coach to help with managing emotions and relationships
